CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for beginners of all ages.
The program focuses on fun, participation, and building strong fundamental skating skills in a positive and encouraging environment.
Skaters work toward earning badges and other incentives as they develop skills that provide a strong foundation for hockey, ringette, speed skating, figure skating, or recreational skating.

POWERSKATE

PowerSkate is an action-packed, high-energy skating program designed specifically for hockey and ringette players.
The program focuses on developing balance, power, agility, speed, endurance, and strong edge control through progressive skating techniques and conditioning drills.
Skaters build confidence while improving their overall skating technique, helping them become stronger, faster, and more efficient on the ice
JUNIOR ACADEMY & STAR 1 - 2

Junior Academy is an introduction to figure skating, providing young skaters with high-quality coaching in a supportive group environment. Skaters begin developing the fundamental skills and techniques needed to progress in figure skating. Entry into Junior Academy is by invitation.
STAR 1 & 2 are the introductory levels of the STARSkate program. Skaters continue building their skills, with some having the opportunity to attend their first competition. STAR 2 also introduces skaters to their first solo program.
Skaters are introduced to all areas of figure skating, including dance, skills, freeskate, artistic, and synchronized skating.
An off-ice component is also included, focusing on sport-specific skills that transfer to the ice, proper warm-up and cool-down, goal setting, confidence, and overall athlete development.

STARSKATE
STARSkate is designed for skaters who are ready to continue developing their figure skating skills and progress through more advanced levels of the sport.
Skaters receive a combination of club group instruction and private lesson time with nationally certified Skate Canada coaches. They continue to build on strong skating fundamentals while developing skills in freeskate, dance, skating skills, and artistic performance.
STARSkate supports skaters as they progress through the Learn to Train and Train to Train stages of Skate Canada’s Long-Term Development (LTD) model.
Levels: STAR 3–10 & Gold
PODIUM PATHWAY
The Podium Pathway, also known as the High-Performance Pathway, is designed for athletes who want to pursue higher levels of competitive figure skating.
This pathway aligns with the Train to Train, Train to Compete, and Train to Win stages of the Long-Term Development (LTD) model.
Skaters receive a combination of club group instruction and private lesson time with our nationally certified Skate Canada professional coaches, with a greater focus on advanced skill development, training, and competitive performance.
